I help individuals and organisations find their bearings when navigating some of life’s most challenging transitions. Whether you are an individual feeling completely adrift at sea, or an organisation looking to support your team through change and stress, my goal is to help you find the glimmers of light and hope in the darkness and look for the best path ahead.
For Individuals: I offer specialised, compassionate support for adults. My clinical expertise is deeply rooted in supporting people through grief and bereavement, trauma, major life transitions, and acute or chronic health conditions (with specialist expertise in oncology and gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis).
For Fellow Practitioners: I provide clinical supervision and a supportive, reflective space for therapists and psychologists. My approach to supervision is highly collaborative, neuro-affirming, and human-centred, with a particular focus on helping fellow clinicians prevent and heal from burnout and overwhelm. If you are a professional struggling to balance the demands of your therapeutic role or feeling you've lost your motivation for the job, or you are trying to avoid getting to that place, let's work through this together.
For Organisations: I partner with workplaces, charities, and corporate teams to deliver thoughtful training, workshops, and consultation. I help organisations build supportive systems, understand psychological safety, and navigate change without draining their people. I bring with me many years experience teaching on doctoral training courses and to University students, providing workplace training to organisations, and working alongside HR colleagues to deliver high impact training to staff teams. I also bring experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team myself and knowing first hand the impact unplanned change and loss has on a team and the benefits of the right support at the right time.
How I Work: My approach is first and foremost centred around the person: your needs, your history, and who you are as a whole person. I bring my authentic self to the room, blending clinical expertise with practical, human guidance. In my practice, I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), CBT, and EMDR. Whether working online or in person in North East Scotland, I am committed to providing an inclusive, anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming, and "spoonie-friendly" space where your identity is respected.
Collaborations, Media, & Speaking: As a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over ten years of experience across NHS services, specialist medical settings, and private practice, I am passionate about bringing deep psychological insights into wider spaces. I am available for collaborations that align with a compassionate, realistic, and practical approach to mental health, including:
* Workshops & Retreats: Designing restorative, evidence-based spaces that combine clinical psychology with gentle, reflective, and practical tools.
* Podcasts & Media: Discussing themes of living with uncertainty, coping with chronic illness or pain, navigating traumatic grief, and burnout amongst therapists and psychologists.
* Speaking & Panel Discussions: Offering grounded, warm, and highly relatable expertise on how individuals and systems can navigate change and find their waymarkers when they feel lost.
* Writing & Resources: Contributing expert articles and resources focused on mental health, physical health adjustments, and self-compassion. I also have a passion for supporting those writing fiction to develop deep characters that reflect the realities of mental health challenges, grief and personal change.
Let’s find the path forward. Whether you are looking for therapy, clinical supervision, or a collaborative partner to speak to, I would love to discuss how we can work together. Reach out at contact@solmirapsychology.co.uk.
