I am an integrative psychotherapist working with adults and young people in private practice in London, Sevenoaks and online. My approach is relational and psychodynamic, with a particular interest in Jungian psychology and the ways in which our inner lives, relationships and wider social and cultural worlds intersect.
My clinical work encompasses a broad range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, questions of identity and belonging, low self-esteem, and periods of significant life transition. Alongside private practice, my experience includes work within the charity sector and with NHS professionals.
At the heart of my work is an interest in what lies beneath psychological symptoms. Rather than understanding anxiety, depression or recurring relationship difficulties only as problems to be removed, I am interested in what they may communicate about a person’s inner world, history, relationships and current way of living. Therapy can create the conditions in which these patterns become more visible and, through greater awareness, more open to change.
My thinking is informed by psychodynamic and Jungian traditions, particularly ideas around the unconscious, symbolism, dreams, psychological development and individuation. I am interested in how mythology, fairy tales, literature, art and contemporary culture can illuminate psychological experience and give language to aspects of ourselves that may be difficult to articulate directly.
I have a particular interest in anxiety and the psychological demands of contemporary life; identity and self-development; relationships and attachment; life transitions; loss and grief; and the tension between adaptation to the external world and developing a more authentic relationship with oneself.
Alongside my adult psychotherapy practice, I am continuing postgraduate training in child psychotherapy. This deepens my interest in early development, attachment and the ways our earliest relational experiences continue to shape emotional life and relationships throughout adulthood.
Beyond the consulting room, I am interested in contributing psychological perspectives to wider public conversations. I welcome opportunities for professional collaboration, talks and discussions, and contributions to media on psychotherapy, emotional wellbeing, relationships, anxiety, identity, psychological development and the application of depth psychology to contemporary life.
