About Melita Ash

Dr Melita Ash is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting neurodivergent children, young people and their families across the NHS and independent practice.

She specialises in understanding why anxiety often intensifies during adolescence for autistic young people, helping parents, professionals and organisations make sense of the complex interaction between neurodiversity, development, mental health and the environments around a young person. Her work is grounded in a neuro-affirmative, compassionate and evidence-informed approach.

Alongside her therapeutic work with parents and teenagers, Melita works systemically with schools and wider services to improve understanding, strengthen collaboration and create meaningful, sustainable change. She has particular expertise in autism, adolescent anxiety, school distress, emotional wellbeing, family relationships and neuroaffirmative practice.

Melita is known for translating complex psychological concepts into practical, accessible guidance that empowers both families and professionals. She regularly delivers webinars, and speaks on podcasts, and is available for podcasts, keynote speaking, media interviews, consultancy and collaborative projects.
