Dr Carolyne Keenan is a Registered Psychologist, speaker and media expert with over 20 years’ experience helping people understand why we think, feel and behave the way we do.
Known for making psychology accessible without dumbing it down, Carolyne brings psychological science to life through warmth, humour, storytelling and practical insight. Her work explores the psychology of modern life- from anxiety, burnout and resilience to relationships, parenting, adolescence, workplace wellbeing and the pressures created by the world around us.
Alongside running her private psychology practice, Carolyne is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 1’s Life Hacks, offering psychological insight into the issues people are talking about. She has contributed to national press and broadcast media and appeared in Channel 4’s Family at War. She also takes psychology into an altogether less conventional setting as part of Shrink Wrapped, a live show combining psychology and stand-up comedy.
Carolyne has delivered talks, workshops and programmes for major organisations, schools and professional audiences, covering subjects including mental health and wellbeing, resilience, working parenthood, anxiety and navigating pressure. Her clinical experience spans NHS, private, residential and educational settings and includes extensive work with young people, adults and families.
Whether she is delivering a keynote, joining a podcast conversation, contributing to a panel, hosting a retreat session or speaking to thousands of people through the media, Carolyne’s aim is the same: to take psychology out of the textbooks and make it relevant to the lives people are actually living.
She is particularly interested in conversations about what it means to be human in a world that constantly asks us to do more, cope better and get everything right- and what psychology can teach us about doing things differently.
