I am Anna, founder of Reparent Yourself. I am an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist and a mum of three. For the last seven years, I have been navigating the beautiful, messy, and often overwhelming world of parenting—just like many of you. I love my children fiercely, but too often I found myself shouting or losing my temper, only to be swallowed by guilt, shame, and self-blame.
No matter how many parenting books I read or techniques I tried, I still found myself feeling triggered and reacting in ways I didn’t feel good about. I felt stuck, and everyday moments started to feel stressful and overwhelming.
Gradually, I started to discover that the key to unlocking more peaceful, intentional, and joyful parenting was to do with my own growth and healing. The journey of reparenting myself transformed our family dynamic. I began responding with intention more often, rather than reacting—and discovered how to let go of perfection, and repair more quickly, both with myself and my kids. By no means have I mastered it, and the process has been far from linear — but I’ve stayed grounded more often, and I’m finding more joy in parenting than I ever have before.
Now, I want to share with you what I’ve learned on this journey. I wholeheartedly believe that every parent deserves to experience the deep joy and connection that parenting can offer. I’m here to guide you—not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who’s been there and gets it. 💛
