I'm Katie Simpson, a BABCP and BACP dual-accredited CBT therapist and counsellor with over 15 years' experience across the NHS and private practice. I run Greenlight Therapy in Birmingham, working with adults navigating anxiety, burnout and life's harder transitions: in person, online across the UK, and walk-and-talk when four walls feel like too many.
I'm particularly interested in the psychological side of weight loss medication (Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic). Millions of people are now taking these medications, and almost nobody is talking about what happens emotionally: the identity shifts, the anxiety that arrives when the "food noise" goes quiet, the mood that doesn't lift with the weight. Prescribing clinics don't really get time to address it; I do.
It's an underserved area, and very few therapists are working in it. That could make me a useful voice for media, podcasts and writing on weight loss medication and mental health, body image, food and emotion, identity change, and anxiety more broadly. I write and speak in plain English, not clinical jargon, I love a nice metaphor, and I'm comfortable being quoted on the psychology while staying firmly in my lane (therapist, not prescriber).
I'm open to expert commentary, writing commissions and collaborations with other professionals, and I can usually respond quickly to queries.
